Talk2Nish welcomes the recent news that Parliament’s Education and Health and Social Care Committees have launched a new inquiry into children and young people’s mental health.
The inquiry will explore the support available in schools, communities and beyond, as well as how education staff can better support the mental wellbeing of children and young people.
At Talk2Nish, we strongly support efforts to create a more joined‑up, holistic approach to young people’s mental health — and we hope young people themselves will have a meaningful voice in this process.
Young people are often on the frontline when it comes to supporting each other’s mental wellbeing as friends. We want to recognise that vital peer support and help equip them with the skills and confidence to do so safely, while also protecting their own wellbeing.
