One week to go...

There's less than a week to go until our first fundraising event and we're busy getting everything ready for all weather eventualities. The forecast keeps changing and at the moment it seems like it's going to be fairly hot so we'll be taking sun cream and water, but not much else.

Maia and I did a long walk last year in Spain. We're not regular walkers [at least not over long distances and uphill], but we made it, although we hobbled into the last stretch because as soon as we got used to uphill walking it was downhill and that puts a whole different pressure on the muscles. The good thing was we didn't have to carry much as, on the Camino, you can get your bags taken to your next stop ahead of you. This time round we need to carry all supplies with us so we're heavily restricting what we're taking.

The good news, however, is that we have the family expert map reader on the team - Leila - and she's downloaded and studied the map. We'll be taking photos and videos along the way and uploading them on Instagram and on the website later on.

We've also got a tracker and so you can follow our progress here - https://live.kongtracking.com/T2NSW2024/

We have friends joining us along the route. We're leaving from London Bridge on 30th as it was where Anisha's student accommodation was and walking along the Thames and then catching the trail to Brighton from Old Malden where the tracker starts. And we hope to stumble into Brighton before nightfall on 2nd.

We've spoken to the Southwark News about the walk and about Talk2Nish and how it came about. You can read the story here - https://southwarknews.co.uk/area/borough/family-who-lost-daughter-20-in-hit-and-run-to-walk-london-bridge-to-brighton-in-her-memory/
